John, I started watching when you did your serious on fixing the Old Johnson Outboard. Went back in time and watched several videos before that to catch up. I have enjoyed most and learned alot. This video was below your normal standard. Your videos have now progressed into Let's see how many commercials UA-cam can shove in and these are long. Really really long. I'm pretty sure that the more commercials you have and the longer they are, the more $$ you make. Good for you for being able to make $$. I am really disappointed in this video. It was not worth the time to sit through the commercial breaks so you get a thumbs down on this one from me. I'd rather you not have a video that have one like this.

Blow out every cylinder with your compressor set up thoroughly and then put the plugs in so not to foul em out, maybe a hotter one threes

Great life hack vids, thanks. I spent $70 for a Big Blue 4.5x20" housing and change it about every 9 months. That's cheaper than your 4x $30 2.5x10" housings. And filters were $122.10 Azon for a ten pack. I'm a super frugal guy, but I know to spend a little more now to save a lot later, and this does. (It appears that the 2.5x10 filters have come way down in price since I installed my Big Blue in '22, but I still like the lower maintenance of the larger filter.) Oh, for weeds, I carry around my EDC Wakizashi. ;)

That engine is f-ed. Yeah u got freed but its gonna blow soon as its back in a real lake or ocean. It needs a rebuild and ur brother needs a hard core lesson in winterizing a boat.....

I'm a boat mechanic. And many times the new starter bolts are to long. Your lucky that the bolt broke and it didn't break off the block.

Hey Jon. Wow I never new there was such debate on witch end to add or fill lower unit oil to the Johnson or any outboard motor. I was a Marine mechanic in Miami. The reason we I was fill from the bottom is it's quick and easy. Oil would come in a tube or bulk. We would squeeze the tube or bulk under light pressure until it came out the top. Put your finger over the top hole. Vacuum will hold it in wile you plug the bottom hole then of course put the top plug in. Done. The bottle you were using would require top fill which is fine. Oil in the gearbox top or bottom. Great Videos. Thanks.

You could install some mesh cages to catch big stuff before it can clog up the pipe but then you have to clean those

When you are strapping a single piece of pipe of any kind to a flat bed trailer, take one strap and wrap it around the pipe in a clockwise direction one wrap. Then wrap another in a counter clockwise direction one wrap. That way they will pull against each other firmly securing the pipe in place.

Why hasn't he used these in any other videos? I haven't even spotted them in any videos? Were they of bad quality? Did he sell them?

At jobs like this one (actually always) I have s shovel with me in excavator. Shovelling sometimes saves way much time than tryin' to do all with machinery. That thumb in excavator boom is pretty unknown at least here in Scandinavia. Almost all excavators newer than 30 years or lighter than 25 metric tons have a rototilt of some kind installed. Interesting to see how it works. Nice video (as well as others in this channel), enjoy to watch.

I have plenty of rocks on my property - it's usually a matter of transport. I was wondering when you were going to break out the "new" skidsteer to get the rocks where you need them. Happy you got the "that's not going anywhere" comment in there! 😄

You need a sand trap upstream of the crossing. A wide and deep area where the flow slows down so the sand settles out.

I have a question. I live in Europe, and specifically in Bulgaria and I've never seen putting straw when planting grass seeds. What's the reason for this? I guess it is to hold the seeds in place, but not sure? Here in Bulgaria we hevy scratch the soil and just trow the seeds right on it.

If it was winterized right, no water should be in the exhaust. That starter comes in regular toque and high toque with the bigger and high compression engines needing the high toque.

My thought is that it was dropped from a crane lifting it somewhere. I think your repair idea is completely reasonable.
